Climate change activists have blocked a road outside the Glasgow office of US banking giant JP Morgan as the COP26 conference continues.

With world leaders locked in talks in the city over the next fortnight, a slew of protests have been planned.

Extinction Rebellion demonstrators holding a sign reading 'stop funding fossil fuels' are among a crowd of hundreds to take part on Wellington Street.

Women dressed as suffragettes and other clad entirely in red also took part in the colourful protest against the banking behemoth, which they claim is the largest funder of fossil fuels in the world.

Police have confirmed that they are at the scene.

A tweet from Extinction Rebellion Southend: "Reds and rebels outside the offices of JP Morgan, the world's biggest fossil fuel financer, in #Glasgow. Stop funding climate chaos, now!"

But some online were left bemused by the demonstrations outside the bank.

Within the last hour Extinction Rebellion Scotland have appealed directly to US President Joe Biden after he said 'God bless you all and God bless the planet' during his keynote speech.

The tweet read: "It's not down to luck. It's not up to God. It's for leaders to LEAD, @POTUS !!

"You were put in your position for such a time as this. #COP26."

It comes following another eye-catching protest this morning where 'Squid Game' style games were played by activists dressed as world leaders.

Teenage environmental activist Greta Thunberg is also in Glasgow where she has lead protests and met with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
